About this speaker

Nina Schuyler's novel, The Translator, won the Next Generation Indie Book Award for General Fiction and was a finalist for the William Saroyan International Writing Prize. Her nonfiction book, How to Write Stunning Sentences, is a Small Press Distribution bestseller. Her first novel, The Painting, was shortlisted for the Northern California Book Award. Her short stories have appeared in Zyzzyva, Fugue, Santa Clara Review, and elsewhere. She teaches creative writing at the University of San Francisco and thewritingroom.us, and writes in a small room with a view of a palm tree
